About PatchRecord.com

A plain record of how Call of Duty weapons have changed over time, kept separate by weapon class and game mode.

What PatchRecord is for

Patch notes describe one update at a time. PatchRecord joins them up, so you can see where a weapon started, what changed along the way, and whether those changes have mostly helped it or held it back.

Coverage is the current weapons in the active annual Call of Duty title and in Warzone. Maps, general news and beta notes are not covered.

Multiplayer and Warzone are separate

Multiplayer and Warzone are balanced separately and updated on their own schedules, so PatchRecord keeps them apart. A weapon with the same name can have a different history in each. Loadout and attachment effects are not counted as changes to the base weapon.

What it is not

  • Not a ranking of which weapon is strongest in a fight. Meta Ranking is a patch-informed balance assessment within one class and mode, not a measure of current power, popularity or win rate.
  • Not a loadout guide or a news service.
  • Not complete everywhere. Where information is missing, the page says so instead of guessing.

Where to start

Everything lives on the Summary page: the Top 5 Meta Rankings, the full list for each class and mode, and a dated history for every weapon. Methodology explains how to read the results, and Sources explains where the information comes from.

Independence

PatchRecord is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Activision or any Call of Duty studio.
